The Toronto Raptors announced Friday that the team would be parting ways with head coach Nick Nurse.
During his media conference making the announcement, Raptor’s vice-chairman and president Masai Ujiri expressed his appreciation for Nurse.
“We want to thank him for everything he’s done in this organization, including helping us win an incredible championship,” Ujiri said.
Nurse had won almost every accolade there is for a coach to win after almost 10 years with the team. During his tenure, he won an NBA championship, a Coach of the Year award, and all-star game coaching honours.
However after finishing the season with a 41-41 record, and missing the playoffs for the second time in three years, the organization announced it felt changes needed to be made.
