The brand-new Canada’s Food Guide, first in the last ten years, has been introduced by Health Canada earlier today.

Since the last edition, major changes were done to the guide.

Instead of specific serving recommendations, the new guide promotes eating fresh foods, whole grains and protein foods.

As the recent report from Statistics Canada stated that sugary drinks are the top source of sugar for Canadians, the new guide recommends making water the beverage of choice.

Below are the new guidelines as well as what has changed throughout the years of Canada’s Food Guide.
