Calling all movie lovers, the Cineplex Great Digital Film Festival is here.

Cineplex’s 7th annual Great Digital Film Festival starts today. The festival originally started in 2009 in downtown Toronto and is now nation-wide.

This year’s lineup includes digitally re-mastered Sci-Fi, fantasy and cult film favorites like Star Trek 2, The Labyrinth with the late David Bowie and even Beverly Hills Cop. Movies like these have created an impact on the film industry and some may even deem them as classics.

Heidy Morales, editor and writer for the arts and culture site Hye’s Musings said she’s been a Sci-Fi/Fantasy fan and movie lover since she was a child.

“I like the fact that you can escape reality and if you pay close attention there is some interesting commentary that comes from different story depictions,” Morales said.

Most of these films are only available on video or through a streaming service now, but Brad LaDouceur, Vice President of Event Cinema with Cineplex said this is an opportunity for fans to have a new experience with their favorite films.

“It’s a better experience and it’s the way that director’s intended for it to be.”

The festival will run for one week from February 5 to February 11 2016.
