The Toronto Transit Commission recently considered adopting a time-based transfer system that would allow passengers to travel in any direction during a specific time period.
If the change were to be implemented, commuters would be allowed to travel for two hours in any direction using the city’s public transit system.
But the system switch would come at a cost.
The switch to time-based transfers could cost the TTC up to $20 million annually.
The issue was debated at City Hall on Jan. 28. Humber News reporter Hugh Smith was there to provide live updates from the discussion.
