The Invictus Games continued its events through Toronto, this time through beautiful High Park.

Today’s highly anticipated event featured the gold-medal races in men’s and women’s cycling.

The 400-acre park was transformed into a circuit that looped all across the park.

To ensure a safe event, all roads leading into High Park were closed off days before the Invictus take over. In addition, time trailed races, where cyclists race individually in different set times, were in effect to prevent on course collisions between the cyclist.

Road cycling, tandem bike riding, handcycling, and recumbent riding were the four variations of races that took place.

Thousands of fans, with most of them rocking their team’s color, flocked to the park in anticipation of the games.

The day was highlighted by Canada’s own Julie Marcotte who placed gold in the women’s recumbent event.

Today’s Invictus scheduled was definitely one of the busier ones as golf, indoor rowing, powerlifting, and sitting volleyball were all taking place at different venues.

Tomorrow’s event will include the preliminaries for wheelchair rugby.
