The Toronto Blue Jays will be playing its first game this year under the lights of the Olympic Stadium in Montreal Friday night. With that comes inklings of hope for the Expos returning once again to the MLB.

However, it seems that idea has become even more possible since the last time the Blue Jays made the trip to Quebec.

A group of Montreal investors have completed the requirements Major League Baseball has laid out for them. A financial plan is in place and several potential stadium locations with different designs have been outlined.

The proposal from the still unnamed investors have been cleared by two levels of government and now awaits an answer from MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred.

For the time being, Montreal baseball fans are focused on seeing “Canada’s Team” live in spring training action against the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Big O. This is the fourth consecutive year the Jays have come out to the Expos’ old stomping ground to play in front of the Montreal fans.
