Leading up to Charlotte: Timeline of police killings that sparked U.S riots

The police killing of Keith Lamont Scott has resulted in massive riots, and triggered a state of emergency in Charlotte, NC.

Since 2014, there have been dozens of unarmed African-Americans who have been shot down by police officers.

According to a 2015 study, the majority of unarmed people killed by the 100 largest city police departments were black.

The report noted, “These police departments killed unarmed black people at a rate 4 times higher than unarmed white people.”

The reaction to this violence has been more violence.
