Today is World Emoji Day.
The popular ideograms and smileys have become a global phenomenon and are used worldwide in electronic messages and websites to convey a form of expression.
World Emoji Day has taken place annually since 2014, and although an unofficial holiday, the day has been deemed a “global celebration of emoji” and is celebrated with a variety of emoji-themed events and product releases.
