The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), faculty and students held a large rally in front of the Ontario Ministry of Education office in downtown Toronto on Wednesday.

Thousands of striking college faculty members and a few students showed up to demonstrate unity and make their voices heard.

The purpose of the rally was to help end a labour dispute, which has put a stop to classes for nearly two weeks.

The union members are urging the province to step in and take action if an agreement can’t be negotiated between OPSEU and the College Employers Council.

If a deal isn’t reached by next week, OPSEU will plan another Wednesday rally at Queen’s Park in hopes of getting both sides to an agreement.
