A specific guideline in the emergency instructions at Humber College has come under fire after the school ran a lockdown drill exercise Thursday.

Tony Santeramo, lockdown officer, said ducking under desks during a lockdown is a mistake while in an open space.

The goal should be finding an enclosed space to hideout in until the lockdown is lifted, he said.

Humber College will run two other lockdown drills, one Saturday and one Tuesday.
