Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady took to social media Wednesday morning to announce that he is retiring from football and the NFL for the second time and this time ‘it’s for good’.

This time, fans believe that Brady is out of the game for good as the 45-year-old quarterback was rumoured to be uninterested in returning next season for sometime.

Toronto Argonauts DaShaun Amos and Deionte Knight both shared fond memories of watching Brady and remarkedon his impact on the game across the border.

“He’s done so much for football that it doesn’t matter where you’re playing the sport,” Amos said.

“He’s an inspiration to all who loves the game and has set the standard numerous times on how to win, be a professional, play with passion and treat the game with respect.”

Amos played against Brady in a preseason game during his four-game stint with the New York Giants in 2017, where he shared the gridiron with the quarterback who is widely referred to as the greatest of all time.

“I was so locked in on my performance and the impression I wanted to make that I completely forgot about who was going to be on the other sideline,” he said.

“Right after we got booed while running out of the tunnel, the crowd starts standing up and going crazy with the hype video on and then fireworks go up and there was my reminder with Tom Brady basically having his own entrance where I had a small moment as a fan that preseason or not, I was sharing the gridiron with Tom Brady.”

Knight remarked the impact Brady had not just as a great player but a great leader and a great man to set an example.

“One thing that is consistent about former players who have played with him was how great of a teammate he was and that’s really important because it’s important to be considered a good man amongst your peers and I think that’s a really valid lesson that anyone can carry in all walks of life just to be a good teammate, employee, husband, father or son,” he said.

The Brampton Minor Football Association and the Brampton Bulldogs also released a statement to Humber News on Brady’s impact on their organization.

“He’s been winnings championships as long as a lot of our youth have been alive and he is a testament to the hard work and dedication we value every day,” the Bulldogs said.

“Football is a tough sport, it’s a sport that requires discipline and determination and Tom Brady has shown that throughout his career. The BMFA will always hold true to some of those lessons we learned from Tom like winning and hard work.”

Brady finished his career with three MVP awards and is the current all-time leader in almost every quarterback category like passing yards, completions and touchdowns.

He brought success to every team he played on with seven super bowls to his name, which is more than any other franchise.
