College faculty will participate in a strike mandate vote in two weeks amid the ongoing collective agreement negotiation process with Ontario’s 24 public colleges, the CAAT-A academic bargaining team said Friday.

The union also confirmed the government-appointed conciliator filed a “no board” report that triggers a cool-down period during the negotiation process.

CAAT-A has been engaged in bargaining for a new collective agreement with the College Employer Council since earlier this year.

Recent talks have broken off as tensions have risen at the bargaining table.

However, the union bargaining head told Humber Et Cetera that the fall semester’s classes are safe from interruption due to labour action.

MORE TO COME.
