Ford strongly recommends avoiding trick-or-treating this year

Premier Ford strongly recommended to avoid trick-or-treating in hotspots this year during his daily announcement.

“We just can’t have hundreds of kids showing up at your door,” Ford said.

As of Oct. 19 York Region, Ottawa, Peel, and Toronto moved to a modified Stage 2, after the cases of COVID-19 spike.

Modified Stage 2 included the prohibition of indoor dining, limited social gathering, and the closing of indoor gyms.

Ford suggested finding other safer ways of celebrating this Halloween in order to avoid the spreading of the virus.

“It’s not something we want to do, but we know that with the evidence we see lots of community transmission,” Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Officer of Health, said.
