Women’s employment increased for fifth consecutive month

Recent data from Statistic Canada show that the employment gap between men and women began to close in September.

According to The She-Covery Project created by Claudia Dessanti, a Senior Policy Analyst at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, the pandemic affected men’s and women’s employment, but for women, the impact was greater.

In March, women lost twice as many jobs as men. However, the most recent employment numbers from Statistics Canada show that women’s employment has been on the rise for the past five consecutive months.
