Timeline: What’s next with iPhone 12?

The Apple iPhone 12 is being launched today, and questions are swirling about what it will offer.

The launch was scheduled for 9:30 a.m. PT, 12:30 p.m. ET.

Each September, a new iPhone is released and continues to intrigue with design choices on the outside and improvements inside.

From the release of the first iPhone in 2007, it was one of the first cellular phones to offer touch screen and internet access.

Old iPhone users might remember the bulkier phone with a rounded back, two megapixel capability and no app store.

Each year looked to change the model before in one way or another. The old 4-inch rectangular model featuring a home button from 2013 has transformed into a 6.5-inch all-screen design with the the potential to record a full fledged movie and the capability to run a computer program.

Dedicated iPhone users are always eager to see the latest model.
