Ontario reported 548 cases of COVID-19 on Oct. 6, as the province braces for the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

Toronto reported 201 new cases, 90 in Peel Region, 56 in York Region and Ottawa also reported an additional 62 infections. The Ford government has put forward strict social distancing regulations, but a surge in COVID-19 cases continues.

Humber News has created a map tracking active COVID-19 cases among Toronto residents using the Toronto open data portal. The data includes gender, age group, neighbourhood, and how that person contracted the virus. All information on the portal is updated weekly.
