Jimilia Isidore, designer and a recent fashion graduate from Humber North campus, isn’t letting COVID-19 stop her excitement for this summer season.

“This summer is different due to the pandemic because everybody is not dressing up as they used to,” Isidore said. “But you can show your creativity through your clothes during this time.”

Isidore suggests buying tank tops as they are always trendy and can be worn at home as lounge-wear.

“This summer go sleeveless, tops without sleeves can be matched with high-waisted jeans or stylish pyjamas,” she said.

Denim shorts and mini-skirts are a must for this season and can be styled with hoop earrings or a simple pendant, Isidore said.

“Try to wear colours like red, orange and bright green. Black and neutral can be worn during the night,” she said.

Isidore recommends buying bodysuits in neutral or bright colours for this season, it can be paired up with mini maxi skirts or denim shorts.

“Ripped jeans can be worn with a white t-shirt and can be paired up with a baseball cap as an accessory,” she said.

Sunglasses are a nice addition to the outfit if biking or going out as it makes an outfit stand out and look more fashionable, Isidore said.

Bret Samba, a fashion arts and business student at Humber North campus, said women should experiment more with bright colours this season.

“This pandemic has affected the fashion industry as people are not shopping in-stores,” Samba said. “Try looking for sweatshirts with funky prints on them that you can pair up with biker shorts or tight jeans for a lazy afternoon look.”

Samba suggests getting cashmere knitted loungewear as it is comfortable and chic looking.

Samba suggests buying bright coloured slides as they can be paired up with loungewear.

Samba suggests wearing stripped style t-shirts with sweatpants or high-waisted pyjamas.

“Dresses with prints can be paired up with white tennis shoes as it gives the outfit an edgy look,” she said.

For an everyday look, an oversized hoodie and tracksuit bottoms will be comfortable for this season, she suggested.

Denim shorts and denim dresses can be worn in the evening with light accessories, she said.
