It’s a big day for all 30 teams in the NBA as the trade deadline is fast approaching.

Some are looking to improve their chances to win the NBA championship. While other teams are looking to trade their best players so they can start over.

The New York Knicks are one of those teams looking to rebuild.

The Knicks are offering power forward Marcus Morris to another team. They’re also interested in trading for Golden State Warriors guard D’Angelo Russell.

This is after New York fired its president of Basketball Operations, Steve Mills on Feb. 4.

As of right now, General Manager Scott Perry will take over control of basketball operations. The Knicks are in the process of looking for a new president.

One of the candidates for New York is Toronto Raptors’ president Masai Ujiri. He is a real possibility to join the Knicks but right now it’s unlikely because Ujiri has two years left on his contract with the Raptors.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski with information from league sources, CAA NBA player agent, Leon Rose is more than likely to be the next president of the Knicks.

One of the biggest trades this year so far was on Feb. 4, when the Atlanta Hawks, the Houston Rockets, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets agreed on a four-team 12 player trade.

The Rockets traded centre Clint Capela and Nene to the Hawks and in return, got Timberwolves players Jordan Bell, Robert Covington as well as Golden State’s 2024 second-round pick that was previously owned by Atlanta.

The Timberwolves also received Denver’s shooting guard Malik Beasley, forward Juan Hernangomez, small forward Jarred Vanderbilt and Atlanta’s guard Evan Turner.

In the trade-off, Minnesota got Brooklyn’s 2020 first-round lottery-protected pick, which was previously owned by the Hawks.

In return, the Nuggets got Minnesota’s forward Keita Bates-Diop, guard Shabazz Napier, forward Noah Vonleh and Rockets guard Gerald Green.

Denver also got Houston’s 2020 first-round pick.

Teams have until 3 p.m. to make their trades. In the meantime, here is up to the minute live coverage from Humber News of the trades as they happen.
