Nearly 20,000 people took part in the Walk with Israel organized by UJAF (United Jewish Appeal Federation) of GTA at Earl Bales Park on Monday.

As a part of the 50th anniversary of the walk a one kilometre stretch from Bathurst Ave to Wilson Ave has been turned into a street festival.

“This year, we have conducted a eight kilometres walk followed by a street festival to express solidarity with the Jewish communities in Toronto,” UJAF vice-president Steven Shulman said. “We have raised millions of funds by our volunteers on the walk and these funds will go to UJAA in Israel.”

However, several other groups have gathered at the park to protest against the walk and expressed their anger towards the Jewish community.
