Humber held its 35th annual Student Appreciation Awards on Monday for those who have gone above and beyond at the Humber community.

Students, staff and faculty could nominate one of their peers that exemplify selfless, dedication and excellence in the Humber community.

The event was run by the Public Relations post-graduate certificate program students.

“We are honouring Humber’s Brightest Stars,” which was also the theme of the event this year, chair of the event Alexandra Pappas said.

The recipients received an amethyst Inukshuk shaped award, which inspired the public relations students to build their event on a celestial theme.

“It’s an incredible way to honour the amazing efforts of some of the people in the community and it also brings together both our Orangeville, North and Lakeshore campuses as a big community,” Pappas said.
