Humber garden supplies local and sustainable foods

The outdoor classroom Humber Food Learning Garden is now officially open.
Humber’s staff, community members, and children at Humber’s summer camps programs who joined the opening event Tuesday morning tasted dishes of the freshly harvested vegetables from the Arboretum garden which were prepared by chefs and Humber’s culinary arts students .
The garden will supply local and sustainable foods, including herbs, fruits and vegetables, to Culinary Management students to make meals for the on-campus restaurant The Humber Room, which is Humber College’s student-run gourmet restaurant.
