Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein faces new sex charges in addition to earlier charges of rape and sexual misconduct.

The additional charges filed by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office include an additional count of criminal sexual act in the first degree for a forcible sexual act against a woman involved in a case dating back to 2006 and two counts of predatory sexual assault — which carries a minimum 10-year sentence and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

Weinstein had pleaded not guilty to the first set of charges.

More than 70 women have accused him of sexual misconduct, including rape.

The extraordinary courage from the victims gave rise to the #MeToo movement, which saw hundreds of women publicly accusing powerful men in business, government and entertainment of sexual harassment and abuse.

Here is a timeline briefing the events of the Harvey Weinstein scandal and the rise of MeToo movement.
