The Albion Library in Etobicoke was packed today as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared at a town hall discussion of youth unemployment in Canada.
The library on Albion Road, between Kipling and Finch Avenues, also featured a job fair.
Opportunity For All Youth Toronto, organized by the coalition Opportunity For All Youth (OFAY), began at 10 a.m. Companies including Sobeys and Starbucks attended the job fair.
Trudeau spoke to the event’s attendees during a town hall question-and-answer session.
OFAY is a coalition of some of Canada’s largest employers who aim to reduce high youth unemployment in Canada. Employer members of OFAY also include Walmart, Telus, Chipotle, The Source, and Tridel.
The coalition’s website states the initiative seeks to “fundamentally improve opportunities for vulnerable youth” by providing training and employment opportunities to young Canadians who have trouble finding work.
