The 2018 Junos will be rolling into Vancouver this weekend.
The biggest music award show in Canada will be hosted by Vancouver native, Michael Bublé.
This is the second time Bublé is hosting the awards. The singer first hosted back in 2013 in Saskatchewan.

This year will be the 47th annual Juno Award show since the start of the ceremonies in 1970. From JUNO Fan Choice award to Album of the Year, there are about 45 categories in this year’s show.
One previous host who won’t be at the awards is Jacob Hoggard of Hedley, who fronted the Junos in 2015. He and his band were dropped from the lineup due to multiple sexual misconduct allegations in recent weeks.

A variety of musicians from all genres will be performing at the ceremony. Daniel Caesar, Arkells, Lights, and Jessie Reyez are some of the few that are set to take the stage. The latest addition to the Junos lineup were Montreal indie rockers the Arcade Fire.

The Barenaked Ladies will be reuniting with their co-founder Steven Page for a special one-time performance to celebrate their induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Page left the band nine years ago to pursue a solo career. He isn’t officially back with his former bandmates but will be reconnecting for one night.
The Barenaked Ladies‘ keyboardist Kevin Hearn will be teaming up with four-time Juno winner, City and Colour and two-time winner Sarah Harmer to perform a special tribute honouring the late Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip.
Humber at the Awards
The number of Juno nominees with Humber connections keeps growing.
Humber alumna and jazz singer Emilie-Claire Barlow is a guest artist on Carn Davidson 9’s MURPHY, which has been nominated for Group Jazz Album of the Year. Barlow is a two-time Juno Award winner & six-time nominee.
Barlow visited Humber College last year at the spring concert.
“She (Barlow) created a fanstastic career for herself and is a very very talented musician,” said Denny Christianson, the director of music at Humber College.

Humber alumni, Eli Bennet will be at the Junos again for the second time.

Humber professor and Cuban jazz pianist, Hilario Duran, is nominated for an award for solo jazz album of the year.

Humber faculty members Dylan Bell and Suba Sankaran from Autorickshaw are also up for awards for their latest album, Meter.
Since the uproar of #MeToo movement has gone viral some viewers criticized the Junos for the lack of the representation of female talent within the industry. Music lovers will just have to see how the 2018 Junos pan out compared to the lack of female winners last year.
The Junos will be broadcasted at 6 p.m. Sunday on CBC.
