After a well-deserved win at the MLS championship, the Toronto FC took to the streets to celebrate.

After parading the cup down Bay Street, the team gathered at Nathan Phillips Square where TFC management and Mayor John Tory celebrated a record breaking year.

This is the first ever MLS cup to come to Canada and TFC has become the first ever MLS team to win three championships in a calendar year, known as a domestic treble . This includes winning the Supporter’s Shield, which was a first for any Canadian team.

The fans in attendance were nothing less than jovial, welcoming their club with a roar of TFC cheers, despite the frigid weather.

For many fans, winning this year produced a large sigh of relief.

After last year’s loss to the Seattle Sounders, many were eagerly this year’s stunning 2-0 win.

Dire moments like these created life-long memories for die-hard fans like Febrian.

“I didn’t even know who was around me but when … scored that second goal, we were all hugging in pure joy,” Febrian said.

Mayor John Tory expressed his joy as only a mayor can, officially declaring Dec. 11 as Red’s Day.

TFC has certainly cemented their support in the city and proven their worth to soccer clubs everywhere.
