Tow truck driver airlifted to hospital after crash on 401

A tow truck driver has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured while trying to pull a tractor-trailer from a ditch on Highway 401.

The truck rolled over into the ditch early Thursday morning while traveling eastbound on Highway 401 approaching Guelph Line.

The tow truck driver was injured when the truck was  flipped over and raised back onto the highway. The man’s injuries are said to be serious but non-life threatening.

The driver of the tractor-trailer has been charged with careless driving.

The Ministry of Labour has also been contacted.
