Numerous allegations of sexual misconduct against the powerful elite in various industries are being brought forward by people since movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was accused of allegedly sexually assaulting women over decades. Since the women came forward in October, stories of sexual harassment and assault have been thrust into the public light.
Public condemnation of Weinstein, and others like him, has empowered numerous people to share their stories of sexual harassment against celebrities, executives and other men of influence. These accusations have sparked a global conversation on the subject – with companies reworking their sexual harassment policies, people questioning the past practices of Human Resource departments, and #MeToo stories becoming a rising trend on social media.
