It’s day two of the faculty strike supported by Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) and there’s no signs or indication as to how long the strike might last.
Picket lines were formed around Humber’s Lakeshore campus, where students and faculty members showed unity by holding signs and walking seemingly endless kilometres to have their voices heard.
In 2006, a previous strike of college academic staff occurred, lasting for 20 days.
OPSEU is hoping to come to an agreement with the College Employer Council so students can get back to their education, which they paid for.
Classrooms are still mostly empty and students are left in disarray and are concerned about their academic future.
