Wildfires rage through B.C., leaving over 10,000 people displaced: timeline

On July 7, British Columbia suffered a severe lightning storm that set into motion a series province-wide wildfires. About 220 active fires are currently burning across the province and over 10,000 B.C.-natives have been left displaced. Follow the timeline of events below.

Reporters and victims of the B.C. wildfires took to Twitter to document what’s going on in the province.

Last year, Alberta experienced huge devastation after wildfires raged through Fort McMurray, destroying approximately 2400 homes and buildings, and leaving another 2000 residents from three communities displaced.
