To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Humber college, three streets surrounding the north campus were officially renamed during the annual President’s BBQ today.

The new names, Alumni Place, Presidents’ Way and Great Hawk Road, all honour groups of people who have made a difference to the legacy of the school, including the  Anishinaabe/Ojibway people.

President Chris Whitaker unveiled placards with the help of Humber’s longest running president and Order of Canada recipient Robert (Squee) Gordon.

Humber’s anniversary coincides with the 50th year of the creation of the Ontario College System. More celebrations are planned for the summer and into the new school year in the fall.
