Halton police found a wallet in a field and are hoping that it will lead them to a missing elderly woman.

Helen Robertson, 79, of Burlington, has been missing since last year and has Alzheimers. She is known to go on long walks and she was last seen at her residence on Millcroft Park Drive, in the Upper Middle Road and Appleby Line area, on July 5, 2016.

Burlington city workers found a brown leather wallet on Monday in a fenced field in a city park and is believed to belong to Robertson.

Police think the wallet was left there between Friday and Monday after being found at another location.

Police are urging the person who found it to come forward so they can conduct a further ground search for Robertson.

Robertson is described as white, five-foot-two and 110 pounds, with white collar length hair. She was last seen wearing a long sleeved, red collared shirt with two different shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-905-825-4747, ext. 8760, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
