Hot Docs 2017 film list is finally revealed

The Hot Docs film festival released its full 2017 line up.

Venues across Toronto will be screening an array of international documentaries between April 27 and May 7.

This year there will be 230 titles from 58 countries. An impressive 48 per cent of the films are by women directors.

The festival also announced it added a new $50,000 Rogers Audience Award for the best Canadian feature-length film. The winner will be announced on the final night.

This year’s topics offer a diverse selection of hard hitting current issues. There will also be live events, panels, and special dinners.

Lana Slezic’s debut documentary, Bee Nation, will kick off the 24th edition of the world-renowned festival on opening night.
