There was a collective sigh of relief at Humber as Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne’s announced that John Tory cannot go ahead with introducing tolls on major highways in Toronto.

“Nobody wants to spend  the money when they’re going to work or school,” said Steven Fleming, a film and television student at Humber.

A few months ago, John Tory said that he would be tolling the DVP and Gardiner highways in order to raise money for municipal operations.

However, Kathleen Wynne suggested that the funds from gas taxes will be redirected to help with public transportation.

Humber News spoke to students and got their reactions.
