A Toronto car garage located in the west end of the city is brighten people’s days with positive messages – and some early winter warmth, as well.

Master Mechanic High Park touts on its website that it has been voted Toronto’s best car service for its friendly staff and their genuine care about cars.

The billboard at the front of the shop displays kind-hearted messages like, “may your day be filled with good thoughts and happy moments.”

Master Mechanic’s latest venture is not only spreading positive messages to cheer people up, but shop owner Josie Candito and her business partners are distributing 100 scarves for any passerby to grab if they are feeling cold.

“I know that during this time of the year, the temperature really drops. I feel like when you put a scarf on, it’s almost like you got a hug,” Candito told Humber News.

Canditio shows that something as simple as a free scarf or a positive message can truly go a long way and make someone’s day.

Colin Ferry studies dance at George Brown College and was passing by the mechanic shop, and was immediately drawn to it after seeing a billboard by the side of the shop.

“I was just passing by and noticed the free scarf attached to the billboard with the nice message. I was surprised at how much of a positive difference it made in my day, especially with exams coming up,” Ferry said.

Master Mechanic High Park says it just wants to brighten people’s day since everyone goes through rough times.

“Everyone goes through hard times and I thought it was a nice way to show people that we care in our community. It’s just the concept of kindness, I’m not saying the scarf will solve someone’s problems but it’s a sign of hope,” Candito said.
