To witness Brendan Daly, he and Mark Smich were the best of friends – the weed-smoking duo hung out every day.

Daly testified in Hamilton court on Tuesday that he was loyal to Smich and that after Dellen Millard’s arrest on May  10, 2013, he had tried to aid him in getting rid of a gun and initially lied to police because he did not want to be considered a “snitch.”

Millard, of Toronto, and Smich, of Oakville, Ont., are on trial for first-degree murder in the death of Tim Bosma, the man who disappeared on May 6, 2013 after taking two men for a test drive in the truck he was selling online.

The Crown alleges Bosma was shot in his truck and that his body was later burned in an animal incinerator located on a farm owned by Millard.

Humber News was at the trial to provide an audio report of the proceedings.
