This weekend getting around in Toronto might be a headache.

The Toronto Raptors are beginning their playoff run this weekend, so avoiding the downtown core from Front St. W to Bremner Blvd., and York St. to Bay St would be a great idea.

Humber News spoke to the Director of Transportation for the City of Toronto, Kyp Perikleous, who sites the reasons for the closures as “spring maintenance.”

Here’s a brief breakdown of all road closures, according to the City of Toronto.

According to Perikleous, workers have a heavy list of servicing and repairs “ Over 200 workers will cover 11 kilometers of roadway including bridge inspection and repairs,” he says.

Other repairs include camera and overhead signs, full road sweeping and cleaning catch basins.

All roadways will be closed from 11 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Make sure to check the City of Toronto’s various Twitter Feeds for any other traffic disruptions throughout the weekend.
