Newton comments highlight racial tension in sport

Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton recently made headlines for speaking about the role race plays in how the public and his critics view him.

“I’ve said this since day one. I’m an African-American QB. That scares people because my skill set isn’t like anybody else,” Newton said to reporters. This caused mixed reviews.

Some on social media agree with the Superbowl-bound QB.
