Celebrations continue for Black History Month

The month of February may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean it’s time to stop celebrating Black History Month.

For those that still want to celebrate Black History Month, there are some events in the city for the final weekend this year. Here are three of the most notable events:

February 26
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
An event that will have special guest spakers and workshops.
Location: Scarborough Village RC, 3600 Kingston Rd., Scarborough

North Kipling Youth Present: Know Your Roots – A Celebration of Black History
February 27
7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The 2nd Annual Black History Month led by youths. It includes performances, guest speakers, dinner and a freestyle battle.
Location: 2 Rowntree Rd., Toronto

Black Arts & Innovation Expo 2016
February 27
4:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m
An event that focuses on achievements of legends that made contributions to music, literature, visual arts entrepreneurship and technology.
Location: Artscape Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie Street  Toronto

Among the events held this past month across the GTA was one last Saturday in Brampton.

The United Achievers Club, a non-profit organization that aims to enhance the lives of black and Caribbean residents in the Peel region, held a concert and award ceremony in Brampton to celebrate the occasion.
