Hockey Canada announces World Junior selection camp roster

Hockey Canada officially announced the invitees to this year’s World Junior selection camp which will take place Dec. 10-14.

Director of Player Personnel Ryan Jankowski and Tim Speltz from the Program of Excellence Management Group were at the MasterCard Centre in the west end of Toronto on Tuesday to make the announcement.

Leafs prospects Mitch Marner and Travis Dermott were among those selected.

Other names highlighting the list are top NHL prospects Dylan Strome, Mathew Barzal and Michael Dal Colle.

Returning to camp from last year’s gold medal-winning team are Lawson Crouse, Joe Hicketts and Brayden Point.

The 30-man roster includes two goalies, 11 defence-men and 17 forwards.

The selection camp will feature two games against Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) all-stars.

In total, 22 players will be selected from the camps to represent Canada in the 2016 World Junior Championship.
