It was April 12, 1980 when Canadian hero Terry Fox dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic Ocean with hopes of making it across Canada.
Over 3 decades later, Canadians continue to be inspired and captivated by such an incredible journey.
Celebrating the 35 year milestone, Humber News has created a timeline looking back on the history of the Marathon of Hope.
The timeline includes key dates from when Fox needed to end his marathon in 1980 right up to the most recent Terry Fox Foundation announcement of raising over $700 million.
