Mohammed Morsi was sentenced on Tuesday to 20 years in prison, nearly three years after he┬ábecame elected president after the Egyptian Revolution 2011. He was the country’s first freely elected president.

The sentence┬ácomes as a result of protestors dying during a demonstration in 2012 under Morsi’s rule.
