The provincial government announced more funding on Monday to support services for at-risk and homeless individuals in Ontario.

The funding is part of the Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI), which was launched in 2013.

“Homelessness is one of the greatest challenges in Ontario,” said Ontario community and social services Minister Ted McMeekin. “Ending it is one of the greatest priorities of this government.”

Toronto is earmarked to receive $223 million of the funding.

Humber News was at the announcement and looked at what the new funding means to a community services centre in Malton.
