The Grammys – celebrating music for 57 years

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards are just around the corner, being held this Sunday at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, CA.

Hosted by rapper LL Cool J for the fourth year in a row, 83 Grammy Awards will be presented to recognize outstanding achievement in the music industry.

Returning for the sixth year, Kanye West will debut a “never-before-seen solo performance,” according to Time Magazine, as well as performing with Paul McCartney and Rihanna.

Beck, nominated for album of the year, will perform with Chris Martin. Sam Smith will duet with Mary J. Blige.  Nominee for Best new artist, Brandy Clark, will perform with country star Dwight Yoakam.

Collaborating with Ed Sheeren is Hancock, Questlove and John Mayer. Sheeran will also be performing with Electric Light Ochestra’s Jeff Lynne and Sia.

But that’s not the last of  Sheeren, he will also be accompanying Madonna with Eric Church and Ariana Grande. It’s the first time that Church, Grande and AC/DC will be performing at the awards ceremony.

The Grammy Awards will be broadcast live by CBC at 5 p.m.

Best Rock Performance: Ryan Adams – “Gimme Something Good”, Arctic Monkeys – “Do I Wanna Know”, Beck – “Blue Moon”, Black Keys – “Fear”, Jack White – “Lazaretto”

Best R&B Performance: Beyoncé feat. Jay Z  – “Drunk In Love”, Chris Brown feat. Usher and Rick Ross – “New Flame”, Jennifer Hudson feat. R. Kelly – “It’s Your World”, Ledisi – “Like This”, Usher – “Good Kisser”

Best Rap Song: Nicki Minaj – “Anaconda”, Kanye West – “Bound 2″, Kendrick Lamar – “i”, Wiz Khalifa  – “We Dem Boyz”, Drake – “0 to 100/The Catch Up”

Best Country Duo/Group: The Band Perry – “Gentle On My Mind”, Miranda Lambert feat. Carrie Underwood  – “Somethin’ Bad”, Little Big Town – “Day Drinking”, Tim McGraw feat. Faith Hill – “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s”, Keith Urban feat. Eric Church – “Raise ‘em Up”
