Torontonians started casting their votes as early as 10 a.m. Tuesday at the advance polls.
Designated voting areas for those that want to vote before Oct. 27 are posted online on the City of Toronto website. Voters are asked to vote for a councilor, a school trustee and a mayor.
In Ward 2, which includes Rob Ford and Munira Abukar running for council, a steady stream of voters were ready to cast their ballots on the first day of advanced polling at West Acres Seniors Centre.
“I was really looking forward to voting,” said Abdirahman Hashi who cast his ballot around 11 a.m. with his uncle. The 20-year-old wasn’t too concerned about the mayoral election but was a huge supporter of Munira Abukar, whose signs he helped put up.
“I came specifically for Munira (Abukar). I think she can make a difference in our community and will be better than Doug Ford was. ”

Other residents of the Kipling area said Ford is the right choice to make, stating that he helped build a parking lot after years of walking on dirt in front of their complex.
“I have no complaints against (Rob) Ford, he made one mistake but it doesn’t undo all the good he has done for us,” said Loretta Barrett, while sitting outside her house.
Those that are decided voters or those who can’t vote on Oct.27 can vote in the advance polls from Tuesday to Sunday as late as 7 p.m. at some locations.
