A new video has surfaced in Toronto’s ongoing mayoral scandal.
The video, taken surreptitiously with a cellphone in an unknown living room at an unknown time, shows Mayor Rob Ford ranting and gesticulating, saying: “I’m going to kill that f**king guy.”
The Toronto Star purchased the video Wednesday and sent a copy, along with a transcript, to City Hall.
The video was published on the Star’s website just after noon on Thursday, and Ford addressed media shortly afterwards.
“I just want to come out and tell you that I saw the video – it is extremely embarrassing,” Ford said.
“The whole world is going to see it – I don’t have a problem with that but it is extremely embarrassing.”
He continued, “I was obviously very, very inebriated.”
“I’ve made mistakes, I don’t know what to say. I hope that none of you will ever be in that state.”
Ford did not provide any context for the video.
The Star said the price they paid for the video will be published in tomorrow’s paper.
