Rob Ford may be Toronto’s mayor in name only by Monday.

Special meetings will take place at City Hall today as the council colleagues of Rob Ford seek to pass a motion that could strip Ford of most powers.

If successful, the motion would transfer the majority of the mayoral duties to deputy mayor Norm Kelly.

Ford made headlines again yesterday with crude remarks in regards to new allegations uncovered in a police report.

Humber News reporters Bryan O’Neil, Justin Vasko and Espe Currie will be on site at City Hall following the story.

Polls show Rob Ford would not be re-elected

New polling data suggests that if mayor Rob Ford were to run for re-election in 2014 he would be unsuccessful.

In various scenarios considered by the poll, Ford would lose out to Karen Stintz, John Tory and Olivia Chow.

The polls found that Ford still has a chance to win back supporters with 4 in 10 saying they wouldn’t rule out re-electing Ford.  However, 62 per cent said they would never vote for the current mayor again.
