Toronto’s city council was meeting Tuesday to discuss the fate of plastic bags in the city.

In June council passed a motion banning stores from selling and even giving out any plastic bag as of Jan. 1, 2013.

However, there is talk the decision could be rescinded, said legal experts.

Some city politicians were hoping to reach a decision on Tuesday but if they don’t their meeting will continue tomorrow.

Humber News reporters Jeanette Liu and Julie Fish went to city hall to investigate the story.
