Remembering the record man

Sam Sniderman, known as Sam The Record Man died Sunday at the age of 92.

His famous Yonge street record store operated for over 40 years and its success led to over 100 other retail locations across Canada.

The store closed its doors in 2007.

Sniderman was responsible for starting the careers of Canadian musicians such as Joni Mitchell, The Guess Who and Gordon Lightfoot according to a report done by The Toronto Star.

 The Globe and Mail announced a family service will be held Tuesday at Benjamin’s Park Memorial Chapter and a public memorial service will be announced for October.
