York University resumes normal activity following shooting

Two women suffered non-life threatening injuries after shots were fired at York University’s Keele campus.

Toronto Police were called to the Student Centre at 10:45 p.m. on Thursday for a shooting.

According to a police report, a man made his way through the food court, where he fired a gun.

One woman was shot in the leg, and a second woman was injured by shrapnel.

Both women were taken to hospital and released shortly after. It is believed the two women were not targeted,  police from 31 division said.

The suspect, who left the scene on foot, is described as black, in his mid-twenties, wearing a black coat and black hoodie, between  five feet eight inches and six feet tall.
