Humber College President Chris Whitaker joined officials from PCL Constructors Canada, community leaders and post-secondary education partners to mark the completion of the concrete structure of Humber’s new Learning Resource Commons on Friday.

The LRC is not yet completed. Currently, the construction of the building is in phase two of three, which includes adding a transit loop, as well as finishing the interior and exterior of the building. Phase two is expected to be finished in 2015.

Phase three involves turning the vacant space into classrooms, labs and offices.

When it is completed, the LRC will be six stories and 260,000 square feet, which is 24,154 square metres.
